Sarah Jutzi was just supposed to be away from home for a few days helping her father to deliver some furniture to another Amish community. But then she has an accident, slips on ice that is hidden under some snow, and breaks her leg. She is taken in by a local family - the Nissleys. Mary Nissley is Levi Yoder's sister, but she is busy caring for the general store with her husband Conrad and doesn't have the time to give Sarah the attention that she requires. Therefore, Levi takes over Sarah's care.
