With Christmas just around the corner, Margaret King is ready to celebrate with her familye. After marrying for the first time in her long life and finding it far better than she had imagined, she can only hope that there will be a chance for her to have a boppli too.
She’s getting older, with no end in sight. And she’d love to have a proper familye. It wouldn’t hurt to see her sister Ruth happy again, either, but there is nothing she can do about that.
Meanwhile, an Englischer named Ralph Weston has had a life of many undesired turns in the last few years. With his wife recently passing away, he turned to drinking alcohol. In a bid to better the lives of his two young daughters, he wants to get them to their grandparents’ house.
The two worlds collide when Ralph’s car breaks down in the Amish community. With nowhere else to go and Christmas so close, Ralph worries that he has only made Christmas worse for his daughters Angela and Violet.
Ralph discovers some comfort when Margaret and Ruth welcome him and his daughters into the Amish community with open arms. Will the two families learn to be happy together, or has Ralph fallen down too far to fit in with the Amish? Can Ruth and Ralph find true love amongst one another, or do they need to look elsewhere for companionship? Is everyone’s faith in God strong enough to make this the best Christmas ever?
