A Story by

Faith Miller has been living with her aunt and uncle in the city for a couple of years now. She’s gone and gotten her GED and has enrolled in college. Made friends. Started a life for herself outside of the Amish community she grew up in. And it’s going well.

Until her parents write to her that her father is ill. Wasting no time, her aunt helps her get home. She usually goes home for Christmas, but this begs for a more urgent return. So, when she returns in early December, she is somewhat disappointed to find that her parents had jumped the gun.

It only gets worse when a snowstorm prevents her from going to the small town nearby to do anything.

While she’s stuck at home, she is given a chance to rekindle her friendship with Noah Schrock. They had been best friends growing up, but when Noah had been baptized, and Faith hadn’t, they had grown apart a little. Noah misses her.

Faith has no idea what she wants when she is able to return to the city, and it frightens her a little. Will she decide to stay in the Amish community she grew up in, or has she run out of Christmas miracles?
