Leah Kauffman has never really been interested in getting married to any of the men she grew up with. None of them interested her, and they’re all either courting or married now that she’s twenty-one and three years back from her rumspringa. Her parents wish to see her marry someday and try to encourage her to get there.
Caleb Byler has never thought he was going to be baptized. Growing up under strict, controlling parents, he thought that every community was like that. However, when he finds himself homeless right before the holidays, he decides to give the Amish faith another chance and goes to a community he did not grow up in.
And he makes it just in time for their singing that Saturday.
