Sarah thinks she might like to open Stoney Creek's first school. She'd even like for the girls to attend! Strange things are happening on Stoney Creek, however, that have everyone nervous and might keep the school from opening. The fire in the schoolroom is blazing brightly in the morning before anyone gets there. Food and clothing disappear from many of the settlers' homes and farms. And to add to the worry of a thief, there is always the threat of Indian attack.
Sarah is just as determined as ever, though, and she vows that with God's help, she won't let whatever is lurking in the shadows steal her dream of opening the Stoney Creek school.
