A novel by

When former team roper Katie Upton is left high and dry by her wild twin sister and roping partner, she takes a job as a cutting horse trainer, trying to put some distance between them in more ways than one.

At the Rockin D' Ranch, Katie finds out her wrangling days are far from over, however, when she meets her her new boss's young, motherless daughter, Dixie. Corralling the spoiled little princess won't be an easy task, but Katie thinks she's up for the job. And she is, until her new boss lets her know exactly who rules the roost at the ranch.

After a battle royale, Katie finds out the reason behind his overindulgence and Dixie's behavior problems, which leads her to try subtler tactics to help them both heal. Before she knows it, Katie is in love with them both and part of their little family.

But she should've known her happiness wouldn't last. It never had before in her life. And, according to his well-connected former mother-in-law, who suddenly showed up at the ranch, happiness was something Tommy Tucker would never have again either, if he wanted to keep his daughter.
