An ARVN general, senior liaison officer to MACV, US Military Assistance Command Vietnam, has gone missing and Army CID gives Warrant Officer Carl Yeager the task to hunt him down. Not to bring him back, but to kill him.

Injured during a Vietcong attack, the ARVN general walked out of a hospital and disappeared. Reports suggest he is heading north, to the DMZ, and with a North Vietnamese cousin close to the Politburo in Hanoi. CIA believes he is headed into the North to defect, and they mark him for assassination as part of their Phoenix Program. The strategy put in place to locate and assassinate prominent figures in the South with communist sympathies.

Yeager refuses, until his Vietnamese girlfriend is severely wounded in a Vietcong satchel bomb attack and it changes everything. The bomb was  made in a VC jungle lab close to the DMZ. With his sidekick Army Ranger Ray Massey, they head north accompanied by two Kit Carson Scouts, disillusioned Communists who have joined the American effort.

The journey to the DMZ crosses the A Shau Valley, where a battle is raging. Fighting their way through they cross into the North and uncover a devastating secret that threatens the lives of every soldier and civilian in South Vietnam. And discover the mission handed to them by Yeager’s boss is based on a big lie.

Eve of Destruction is an incredible and fictional story based on the war in South Vietnam. A story of brave, tough soldiers fighting for their lives in the dense, hostile Vietnamese jungle. Often hindered by dubious and sometimes corrupt decisions from Saigon and Washington.

A full-length novel by the bestselling author of many Spec Ops books. These include the popular SEAL Team Bravo stories, Heroes of Afghanistan, Raider, Echo Six, and Devil's Guard titles.
