Earth’s inhabitants failed the test. Driven by power and greed, they succumbed to their ego and doomed their entire species to oblivion by nuking themselves and ridding the planet of their presence.

But at the last second, before nuclear war wipes out to the last man, observers from another world intervene. These observers, who had been monitoring Earth for some time, had taken a liking to these fragile yet brave species. They knew the poor bastards could do better than that. And that’s why they decided to give humanity a second chance. To correct the mistakes of the past or to repeat them.

A thousand people were saved, to be relocated on the planet a hundred years later, when the radiations would have decreased enough to permit life to thrive again. To help them in their new quest, the observers left them one last parting gift: a system called the Link, that allows them to acquire Traits that will increase their odds to survive their new, harsh environment.

When the thousand survivors wake up, they soon realize the enormity of the task that lies ahead of them. Because if the ultimate goal is to rebuild civilization, they will first need to scavenge for food and water. In this endeavor, their newfound skills will prove invaluable. Especially since the first problems are quick to arise. The extreme amount of radiations had an effect not only on the landscape but on its occupants, mutating some of them to become twisted monstrosities.

Bad habits die hard though, and just because you survived the apocalypse, doesn’t make you cooperate better. With dangerous creatures lurking the ruins of a world that’s now entirely alien to them, new mankind will have to learn to live together and use its powers for the common good… or prove that Man is, once and for all, the worst monster of them all.
