Time to Deceive

(2025)
(The third book in the DCI Lesley Grant Mystery series)
A novel by

A serial killer has struck twice at a complex of luxury flats in a remote community on the Clyde estuary and dumped both the bodies in a nearby cave. DCI Lesley Grant is forced to consider whether the complex harbours the killer or whether these are the first in a string of stranger murders.

Grant’s inquiry becomes personal when she receives text messages taunting her investigation and when the latest message indicates the killer has chosen his next victim, Grant knows she is working against the clock to prevent another death.

The inquiry quickly descends into her worst nightmare when Grant discovers one victim was influential in the world of Scottish politics and was reported missing a month before her body was found. Worse, the police investigation into her disappearance declared she was alive and well. Grant is dealing with the ensuing political and media storm when a forensic test blows the case apart and she realises everything her team has uncovered so far must be examined afresh.

A surprising discovery in the case takes her back to West Cornwall, and once again, she must address the mystery surrounding her sister’s disappearance over twenty years ago. This time she is determined to draw a line under it, but will her older sister allow her?

And the text messages keep on coming.
