Funny story about a lady whose husband was never happy with what she cooked. So she visits Gretel who gives her a magic seed that grows a wonder tree (that has a door in it). Next time Mr. Finch grumbled the wife goes to the tree and says (example) Please, dear tree, give pumpkin soup. The husband keeps asking for different dishes so the food he asked for but ignores starts hollering at him: "You've got to eat me first." Read story to find out what happens. Very funny. I would say this is for readers toward end of first grade to third grade.
