Is he as innocent as he looks or just as dangerous as I am?

Blush

Whisper is one hell of a man and all I’ve wanted since I first saw him. I laid it on thick, and when he finally said yes, I figured it would be one and done. That’s always how it goes. Men obsess about my looks and charm, my body and sensuality, but as soon as they get what they want, they ghost me. Which is fine.

My life is complicated and messy. I have a secret, a big nasty one, that if anyone discovered, it would ruin me and my motley family. So I protect it by keeping people at arm’s length, even those I love. Keeping Whisper at a distance though? That’s proving difficult.

Whisper

The second I laid eyes on Blush, I knew I was in trouble. He flirted with me for months, and I tried to stay away, but there’s only so much temptation a man can resist. I’m only human.

Blush is sexy, beautiful, and sassy, a perfect blend of what I’d be into if I wanted a relationship. I don’t. Fortunately, neither does he. I gave my heart away once and after what happened, I locked it away, where I plan to keep it. The plan was casual hookups only, but with Blush, that’s not as easy as it sounds.

The closer I get to him, the more I start to suspect that the laid back flirting is just an act and that danger simmers beneath his gorgeous exterior. What I can’t figure out is if he’s in trouble or am I.
