The vacant, crumbling house of the mysterious, long-dead Lazarus Morte has stood for over a century. Most people avoid it, but every Halloween kids come to the place, often on a dare, to see the town’s ‘haunted house.’ What nearly no one realizes, whether they’re a kid or an adult, is that the house calls to a chosen few, drawing them into its nightmarish horror. Nor do most people realize that photographs of the house over the decades document something strange, even impossible: the house moves. Only twelve-year-old filmmaker Kevin Banning, who uses the house as the backdrop for one of his homemade videos, senses that nothing about the Morte House is normal. When he and his best friend Lino team up with a homeless man who knows more about the house than he initially reveals, they vow to discover the ultimate secret of the house and stop the horrific secret it contains from being released on the world…before becoming victims of the House of Lazarus Morte themselves.
