The long awaited second adventure in a new Western series from Mike Mackessy!

After delivering the Dodge City prisoners to Fort Smith, Jingle and his companions return to Dodge. One night on the trail, sitting around a fire talking, a long-ago memory returns to Jingle. It was a story of an old gun fight. At the time it meant nothing to the ten-year-old orphan. Except, added with the bits and pieces of conversations he recalls, he grows curious. Jingle vows to trace the story. On the flat Kansas prairie an old Buffalo Wolf leads Jingle to the field of old bones.

The story unravels. This is the group of outlaws that raided his home, killed his folks, and changed his life. Jingle and Dennis understand they need to return what they find to the Texas Rangers. However, the craving to create and build a home calls deeper. Dennis and Jingle ride to Wyoming, begin the ranch, then ride to Texas. They meet with the Rangers, and his life makes another unexpected diversion. Burning in the back of his mind is returning to his ranch and his new friends working it, in Wyoming. At least he hopes they are still working and didn’t rustle his horses.

Jingle and his saddle pard, Dennis, have their work cut out for them.
