Every relationship has its secrets - some deadlier than others.

Diego and Laura are the perfect couple. Young, good-looking and well-off, they live in an ocean-front penthouse apartment in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. Diego is a highly-respected criminal defence lawyer, and Laura owns a boutique flower shop. But fifteen years of marriage have taken their toll, their spark faded, so Diego proposes they try something new: bringing a third person into their marital bed.

So enters Vivian, who seems game for anything. To help the couple settle, she suggests they play some erotic games first, before moving into the bedroom, where she reveals she practices erotic asphyxiation and asks Laura to chose her. At first, Laura hesitates but then agrees, wrapping her hands around Vivian's neck. When she lets go, Vivian doesn't wake up.

Afraid of losing everything, Diego and Laura decide to get rid of Vivian's body in an abandoned swimming pool and wipe any trace of her from their lives. But it was never going to be as easy as that. Because Vivian was not who she said she was. Because her body has disappeared. Because someone knows what they did.

Who was Vivian? Who is after them? And why are Diego and Laura suddenly telling different versions of that night?
