The Fraterniti of the Seven Seals
(2026)(The second book in the Pagan Warrior series)
A novel by S J Martin
An early 12th-century medieval thriller featuring a papal assassin, a secret society, and a band of elite horse warriors on a high-stakes quest across Lombardy.
Rhodri ap Gwyfd, a Horse Warrior and white Druid, has finally left Genoa to seek his brother's remains in the mountains of Lombardy. He is fortunate to have the fierce, loyal, scar-faced Irish warrior Daegal O’Brien, along with some of his steadfast men, as they face enemies closing in from all sides.
The powerful and notorious Malandrini, bandits who rule through fear and brutality in northern Lombardy, are determined to capture and kill Daegal O’Brien. Meanwhile, Rhodri, who narrowly escaped arrest and execution because of his pagan beliefs, finds that the Church's pursuit has not ended. They seem intent on hunting him down.
Meanwhile, the Fraterniti of the Seven Seals, a secret society, seeks to eliminate Papal Envoy Chatillon and gradually take control of the Lateran Palace in Rome. They are already infiltrating Pope Paschal’s inner circle to spread their influence, and they aim to resurrect a new cohort of Warriors of Christ. Operating in the shadows, they aim to neutralise threats to the Church by silencing dissent and recruiting more followers until they are ready to unveil their plans and plunge the Church into chaos.
