(1979)
(A book in the David Mallin series)
A novel by

Investigator David Mallin is faced with a new challenge he's not likely to forget any time soon...

When actress Karen Dale comes to him with a problem, he is immediately sucked into her world of film sets and directors. But it's her case that captures his interest. She can't recall her whereabouts for an entire day. And last time this happened, someone ended up dead.

It's Mallin's job to retrace her steps and figure out why she can't remember. He also takes it upon himself to look at what happened last time, and try to figure out the truth. But it won't be easy when everyone Karen is associated with seems to be hiding something. Especially the burly stuntmen who seem to prefer violence as a form of preservation.

With the help of George Coe and a 'borrowed' Lexus, will Mallin be able to solve this case before she loses time again? Or is there more to this story than first meets the eye?
