I make my own path, and it led me right to her.
I’m a rule breaker. Yeah, I admit it. That’s how this situation started. It was my last hurrah before my life took a turn. Fake ID in hand, I went to a bar miles from home to lose myself for a night.
I met her.
Did I intend to have a one-night stand? Nope. Did I think I’d fall head-over-heels in love? Nope. Did I think I'''d wake up alone after she ran out? Nope. Did I expect to see her at my school on Monday morning? As my teacher? Definitely NO.
I saw the recognition burning in her eyes, but she wouldn’t give me the time of day—unless it was to tell me I was late for class. Then during winter break, she disappeared.
I’ve spent the last six months in a funk.
Then I finally see her again and get the shock of my life. She’s pregnant. There’s no doubt in my mind the baby is mine. But she thinks I’m nothing but a rule breaker, that I’ll just walk away. She couldn’t be more wrong. When I make a commitment, I stick to it.
