He charmed you in London. He deceived you in California. His tales have taken people for their money in New York and Florida. Now, snarky con man Todd Gleason goes to France. Is the Con finally on him?

It begins before he’s even involved, with a young lady named Alice. Her life is far from a Wonderland. She’s in possession of a rare jewel, la grenouille d’oree. But not for long. She loses the jewel, and her life. Ah, Todd Gleason. He’s never lacking for something to do. See, he’s met a beautiful woman, an actress with, uh, questionable talents. But she’s been cast in the lead role of a Broadway revival of the Can-Can. Opening Night leads to Todd meeting a woman of influence who may just have a job for him. It involves money. Lots. And a lost jewel. Yup, he takes the assignment. His destination? The South of France, to retrieve what he’s come to know as the Golden Frog. Meanwhile, Alice’s sister, Audrey, is already in the City of Lights, hiring a private investigator to find out what rabbit hole her sister fell through. There are others involved, all of them with their own motives. The mystery of the gilded amphibian will only deepen. And darken. The search for the truth will lead them all to Cannes, where they discover it takes a thief to catch a thief. And a killer
