John Fitch and the mine superintendent, Mike Hernden, had worked a nice racket diverting gold from the mine to their own pockets and were wealthy men. They thought no one knew of the plot, until the day an Indian was killed trying to intercept some of the gold. When a mysterious stranger appeared in town, the inhabitants of Coyanosa asked no questions - they were well used to outlaws, but Mentor Jones was hired by the Indian's father to hunt down the killer...
