Set in an over fifty-five community, the oceanside area is home to most of the group of mature amateur sleuths. All retired, the seven group members have unique skills, talents and backgrounds—a former investigator for Homeland Security, doctor, librarian, and writers among them. Along with efforts to build a beautifully landscaped labyrinth on Leeside grounds, the would-be sleuths sometimes bumbling efforts tax the patience of Roger Demaris and his regional homicide team, RHD (central characters from the original series). RHD is brought in the assist local police and the groups eventually team up with the book club to track a ruthless killer.
