On the outskirts of a Romany camp, Abner, a gypsy, finds a new-born baby wrapped in a fine shawl. Named Kushti, meaning 'luck', she grows up to be a beautiful young woman. After Nahor, a half-Romany, saves Kushti from being raped, she falls in love with him.
