A Literary Life is not a typical celebrity memoir. It is a candid exploration of sixty years of marriage, four decades in academia, and the relentless pursuit of storytelling. From the innocence of 1950s Ohio to the sun-drenched beaches of California and the pubs of Galway, Palmer chronicles the joy of creation and the agony of loss.
Discover the reality behind the published novels—the rejections, the breakthroughs, and the "creative non-fiction" approach that blends memory with literary craft. This is a story of resilience through the tragic loss of a son and granddaughter, the evolution of a marriage anchored by love, and the humor found in retirement's quirks.
