A Body in the Graveyard
(2025)(Book 14 in the Mrs Capper's Casebook series)
A novel by David W Robinson
A summer fete, an interview with a movie megastar, a dead body left in the graveyard.
It’s another case for Haxford’s only licensed private investigator, Christine Capper.
But as ever, it’s not all plain sailing. Haxford born, movie megastar, Jamie Slayford hires her to unearth a long held secret, and he insists that no one should know about it, but when he’s taken in for questioning on the dead woman found laid on a grave at St Asaph’s, Christine has to pull out all the stops to prove otherwise.
And Jamie doesn’t like it when Christine exposes only two other suspects for the killing: his wife and his mother.
Jamie’s agent, Adrian Inskip manages to annoy Christine virtually from the moment they meet, and Wallace Tremont, the vicar of St Asaph’s seems more concerned with the church’s income than the fete’s controversies. Paddy Quinn is his usual irritating self, Mandy Hiscoe is just as crotchety, Eric Reitman is demanding more from Christine, Dennis is still obsessed with the world of the automobile, and Cappy the Cat indulges his usual, autocratic behaviour.
It’s all in a sunny day’s work for Christine Capper as she tries to unravel the mystery behind
