A witch determined to protect her sister at all costs must trust an ex-con to keep her secret.

Living in a small town, Mia Grey has a hard enough time keeping her own unique healing abilities secret, let alone those of her younger sister, whose telekinetic powers grow stronger by the day. Steering a moody teenage witch down the right path while working full-time in her bait shop/convenience store isn't easy - and her pre-occupation with their mysterious new neighbor certainly isn't helping matters. When fate literally puts his life in her hands, she has no choice but to risk her secret in order to save him.

Jack Sutton spent seven years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit. Longing for a fresh start, he heads to the picturesque town of Shelbyville, Illinois in search of a long-lost aunt, his only family connection. But trouble has a way of following him. Knocked unconscious during an apparent robbery, he comes to with a throbbing head, an empty cash register, and no memory of the attack. One thing's clear - his beautiful neighbor knows a lot more than she's letting on.

Excerpt:

The sign in the shop's front window read OPEN, so he let himself inside and strode toward the register.

Mia, the older sister, crouched over a box that read Mepps-Worlds #1 Lure. She pulled out a handful of carded lures and began hanging them on hooks in the middle aisle. Jack tried not to notice how well she filled out a pair of jeans, but quickly lost the battle. She faced away from him, but he knew just how snug the baby-blue tank top would fit across her ample breasts. His hands flexed just thinking about them.

"Hi, Jack."

He turned and smiled at Mia's younger sister, Kat. She came around the counter to greet him, Mudcat right on her heels, tongue lolling and tail wagging. Jack didn't need to lean over to pat the massive dog's head. It was waist high on his six-foot frame.

"Hey, boy. Protecting your ladies as usual, I see."

"Woof!"

Kat was a pretty girl with dark blonde hair, blue eyes, and lots of freckles. He figured she and Mia must be half-sisters since their looks couldn't have been more different. Where Kat was adorable in an All-American way, Mia was so exotically beautiful she took his breath away.

His gaze was drawn back to her. Thick, near-black hair hung all the way down her back, while huge, amber-flecked, dark brown eyes seemed to bore straight into his soul. Her full, rosy lips, high cheekbones and a perfectly sculpted nose made him suspect she might have some Native American blood in her, although with her alabaster skin it was hard to be sure.

"So, did you get robbed last night, or just forget to shut the door?" Kat asked, jerking his attention back to her.

Stunned, he could only stare at the young girl. She knew something about last night? Before he could ask, Mia appeared at her side. She frowned at her sister, clearly upset by her question. Jack crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for one of them to elaborate.

Mia propped her hands on her hips and met his gaze. "You left your back door open last night, so I ran over to shut and lock it for you."

His gaze flickered down to her delectable mouth. He wanted to kiss her so bad he could taste it. He gave himself a mental shake and admitted, "I'm a little fuzzy on last night. If you know something, I'd be grateful if you filled me in."

She exchanged another glance with Kat who gave an apologetic shrug. Mia dropped her arms and walked behind the counter. "I already told you what I know."
