Unfortunately, freedom comes with side effects.
After surviving a reality-eating parasite, saving my husband, and keeping my family alive through yet another magical catastrophe, I thought things might finally calm down.
They did not. Big surprise.
The town wards are acting weird. Davenport House feels… twitchy. And something deep in my family’s magical foundation has started noticing that I changed the rules.
Turns out House was never just a butler. He was part of a very old, very serious system designed to keep something quiet.
And now it isn’t.
With Hollow Cove still recovering, magic behaving badly, and my son sensing things I’d rather not explain at bedtime, I’m stuck cleaning up a mess I didn’t even know existed. One buried beneath centuries of Davenport magic.
Saving the world once was exhausting. Saving it again, when the problem lives under your own house and has a long memory, might actually kill me.
