At twelve years old, everyone in Eryndor gets a class from the System.
Everyone except Dorian.
Which is a problem, because in a world where your class decides your future, getting nothing means you’re not a person so much as a convenient pair of hands for the jobs nobody else wants. For eight years, Dorian has survived as Ashmeth’s Blankclassless, unwanted, and regularly reminded that even the village drunk has more value than he does.
Then the monsters show up, and somehow his day gets worse.
Poisoned, beaten, and dumped into the refuse trench to die, Dorian is supposed to become one more piece of village waste. Instead, something buried deep beneath the world answers him. The failed awakening that ruined his life cracks open, and in the dark, surrounded by rot, venom, and an alarming number of insects, Dorian becomes something the System was clearly hoping never to deal with.
Now he commands a swarm.
Cutters. Silk spinners. Burrowers. Venom carriers. Tiny horrors with excellent work ethic and very few moral objections. Every fight makes him stronger. Every hunt expands the hive. And when Dorian climbs out of the trench, Ashmeth is forced to confront a deeply inconvenient truth:
The boy they treated like garbage came back as everyone’s problem.
Unfortunately for Dorian, revenge is only the easy part.
Beyond the village walls lie ancient ruins, buried queens, and secrets older than the System itself. As his power grows, so does the attention of people and forces who would very much prefer that powers like his stay dead, buried, and forgotten. To survive, Dorian will need answers, allies, and a plan that involves slightly more than pointing bugs at his problems.
Probably.
The Path of the Swarm is a progression fantasy LitRPG adventure featuring a brutal underdog rise, tactical swarm combat, ancient mysteries, ruthless evolution, and a hero whose power is growing into something far stranger - and far more dangerous - than the world is ready for.
Genre: Fantasy
