LAUGHTER ON THE WIND
Louisiana Legacy, Book Two

One-hundred-seventy years after Lisette and Nate find their happiness, the Rambler saga continues. Centuries have failed to tame the Rambler men, and the gambling blood of the first Jonathan Garrett Rambler still rages strongly through their veins.

When Garrett Rambler hears that Molly O’Connell, who was very briefly his stepsister many years ago, is about to lose Rambler’s Rest, he sees a chance to regain the heritage his family lost when Molly’s mother divorced his father and stole the plantation from them. He hadn’t counted on Molly growing up into a beautiful, desirable woman; she never expected that the high school crush she’d had on Garrett would be resurrected at her first glance of him.

Rambler’s Rest is the only place Molly has ever felt was home. When she learns the bank’s generous buyer is Garrett, she refuses to sell, even though she knows she will lose the place eventually. Finally, with no other choice available, she agrees to the deal if Garrett will keep her on as a housekeeper/manager of the popular tourist destination.

Garrett refuses her offer but counters that he will marry her. Even he is surprised by his offer. After what her mother did to his family and his own brief, disastrous marriage, Garrett is soured on the whole notion of love. But Molly was never like her mother and sister, and she has qualities he admires, qualities hard to find—like loyalty, perseverance and hard work. Besides, she loves the plantation as much as he does. And there is that nagging need to touch her every time they’re together. Molly agrees, which begs the question: can an age-old solution to two people’s problems work with two thoroughly modern people in the twenty-first century?
