Take a sometime wizard, send him back to his paranormal hometown, add in a cast of quirky characters and supernatural beings, including a smart Irish Wolfhound familiar, sprinkle with magic, then top off with a big dollop of humour, and you have A Wizards of Little Hope Cozy Mystery.

Life has become increasingly hectic for Bran Fairfield. If it isn't a tourist being murdered, then it's someone stealing puppies and his mum going missing. But after a quiet few days, he's actually looking forward to Family Dinner Friday for a change.
Spending time with his dad, Uncle Frank, and Captain, the malevolent patriarch of the Fairfield clan, is usually dreaded, but it's barbecue night, and nobody incinerates a burger like Bran's dad.
With his relationship with Helen blossoming, and her able to withstand the steely gaze of Captain without melting, he's happier than ever. Even Grenadine the super-sentient spider's newfound craving for exploring the world outside the shop can't put a damper on his mood.
But when Captain gets cross with Bran, his brother Forest, and Roger the Lodger, and things turns very hairy, the fun rapidly fades.
And to make matter worse, Captain's now only gone and vanished. Time to don the smelly cloak, jam his very wizardly hat on his head, and wield his staff.
Before the hunt's even begun, a stack of mysterious crates are discovered in Helen's abandoned summerhouse. Add in a corpse, and you don't need to be a hippy Sherlock Holmes to know that spells trouble.
Has Bran's new girlfriend been targeted by the mob? Are the local residents in cahoots? Will the Fairfields be able to afford enough shampoo? Will they ever find Captain? Do they want to?
As the trail leads them ever closer to those behind their latest mystery, Bran accepts the awful truth that being a wizard in Little Hope might be the death of him, and those he loves…
Get ready for a wild ride where one sneeze can see you turned into a rabbit, the local baker is a real giant, and even the pub is run by a pair of vampires. Watch out for Grenadine the super-sentient spider too!

If you like Amanda M. Lee, Adele Abbott, or Barbra Annino, then Wizards of Little Hope is right up your cozy, cobbled alley. It's about time the guys got some cozy wizard action!
