The only thing standing between me and death is a giant, horned, caveman alien.

He’s promised to protect me from the evil Skuut. He told me so before he bashed in the skull of a bunch of them that were trying to eat me.

I’ve always been rather shy, so it's been sorta surreal. We were never supposed to be on this planet. We crash landed and there was no way to get help.
This warrior race of cave aliens have been our protectors.

In return, sometimes one of us catches their eye. Something happens in their brains and they start calling one of us their jalshagar. It means that woman is that alien’s fated mate.

Let me tell you, that woman's life changes forever. All of a sudden, they protect you. They don’t let you carry anything. Hell, they may even carry you!
They hunt for you and feed you.

Then they love you for a looooong time.
