Colin Mendez hardly even knows who he is anymore. It was never supposed to be like this. This was supposed to be a dream. It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance at stardom, but somehow it becomes nothing but a nightmare, locked in a gilded cage. He’s lost his name; he’s now Alonzo Alistair, the music bad boy. He’s lost his freedom; every move he makes is dictated by his manager and some very shady men. Now, it looks like he might lose his life. People who get sent to Master Leopold don’t come back, and he’s not about to become another victim. All Colin can do is run. All he can hope is that he can hide long enough that they stop looking for him. He doesn’t know that this will put him in the biggest danger of his life and lead him into the arms of his fate chosen love.

Rawl Baines is on a completely separate mission when he sees the handsome stranger sitting in the alley behind the Zen bar. Something about him seems out of place. Something about him calls to Rawl, and he just can’t let it go until he finds out who this man is. There is some spoiled celebrity missing, presumed a runaway, but he can’t be him. No spoiled Richy Rich would be working nights at the Zen. The mysterious man pulls him in deeper, and soon he is engaged in combat with jackals sent to kill the man. This just got interesting. Rawl will stop at nothing to save his fated beloved from the forces arrayed against him. Rawl learns that you can’t judge a person until you’ve seen their life. Can he save Colin before it’s too late?

This is DuCane land, and some people are about to learn a very valuable lesson.
