I had my whole life ahead of me until a deranged group of hunters took it all away from me. I’m at the lowest point of my life when the SPS steps in and offers me a chance to go undercover. The catch is this job might just finish what the hunters started.
Some loon is offering a magical cure for those who have been severely injured or are dying. The SPS thinks it is a vampire, turning humans to create an army. If I couldn’t handle a group of human hunters, how am I supposed to catch a crazed vampire with supernatural abilities?
I guess it’s a good thing I’m not going in alone. Agent Emmalyn Lee, a witch, will be working with me. My tiger swears she’s our mate, I’m not so sure. She seems annoyed by everything I say, and she barely even looks at me.
This case seems personal for her, and she is being reckless, like she is trying to draw attention to us. I make a vow to keep Emmalyn safe, but it gets harder by the day when she keeps throwing herself into danger. We are out of cell phone range, up on this mountain with a bunch of humans, and oh yeah, the vampires. Even if I could prove to Emmalyn that we’re mates, I’m not sure we’ll make it back to civilization alive.
