As Sid, Kiera, and Marge head home from a relaxing beach vacation, they get caught in the outer bands of a hurricane and are forced to seek shelter in an old motel along the Georgia coast. After a downed tree blocks the only motel exit, they find themselves stuck without power, cell service, or gasoline…but with a dead body. With little else to occupy their time, Sid and Kiera set out to investigate the murder but don’t get far before the body mysteriously disappears and, with it, any clues.
Between the brusque motel manager’s unwillingness to help and the other guests’ desperation to get home, getting answers isn’t easy. Undeterred, Sid and Kiera enlist the help of Marge, who is more than happy to help them investigate their fellow lodgers. Is one of the quirky guests actually a cold-blooded killer? Will they be able to find the dead body before the authorities arrive? More importantly, will they be able to ID the killer before there’s another murder?
