ABOUT SANCTUARY: Earthforce Saga Volume 22
One of the most important volumes in the Earthforce Saga, Sanctuary continues right where the story left off in Beyond the Rift. Karpov and the fleet must first confront an unexpected and sudden attack by the Kiring, where victory comes at the cost of those dearly loved. After witnessing an amazing event at Planet Eridia, and bidding the Lyrians farewell, Karpov decides to make a long range reconnaissance into the future to see what threats might be pending. Using the Kamenski Device, Orion then moves 100 years into the future where no one is expecting what they find in the year 2300.
After finding situation reports in a wrecked Waystation in that grim future, Fedorov pieces together a chronology of what has happened to seal the fate of the Earth, and all the colonies. Now, they are determined to intervene in that chronology, and prevent the lighting of a fuse that could explode and destroy the future of all Humanity. As always, the key Pushpoint is hidden in a seemingly innocuous setting, a plaintive Mayday call from a prospecting ship on the outer rim of Human expansion in 2297 that meets a terrifying alien foe. Karpov is searching for a ‘Buckaroo’ somewhere in the chain of command in Earthforce, knowing his actions will determine the fate of all Humanity.
The Final chapter of this novel presents a general background of the impending threat, how it could and must be confronted and managed, and the secret plan known as the Exodus Protocol in a desperate attempt to save as many Human lives as possible. In these events, the kernel of salvation for Humanity lies wreathed in the nebular veils of far off Orion, (First explored in Earthforce Saga Volume #18, the Rigel Dilemma. Now the ship that is named for that nebula must lead the way. This chapter sets the template that will lead the Saga forward in the volumes yet to come. A must read!

‘The Kirov Series and the Earthforce Saga represent one of the most ambitious and enduring epics in modern science fiction. The author’s ability to evolve a long-running military series into a vast, philosophical space opera is nothing short of remarkable. The latest installment’s exploration of what lies ‘beyond the rift’ feels both mythic and immediate, a thrilling convergence of cosmic mystery and human courage. What lies ‘beyond the rift’? How do civilizations respond to forces beyond their control? The book’s blend of interstellar mystery, military realism, and mythological resonance creates a fertile ground for debate and reflection. The incredible scope and ambition behind this work is impressivea vast and ongoing saga. Seventy volumes across the Kirov Series, and now the Earthforce Saga! That’s an extraordinary achievement and a real testament to the Author’s consistency and world-building skill.’
