Kate Ryan has no idea who Maureen Costello is or why she flew all the way from Ireland to confront Kate about the death of Maureen's lover, Dr. Rose Clancy - someone else Kate doesn't know.
Suddenly, Kate, Maggie, and an exuberant Aunt Hannah are flying across the Atlantic back to Ireland with the irritating and hot-tempered Irish police inspector to answer a couple of questions: Was Dr. Clancy's tumble down the stairs an accident, and why did she have a note clutched in her hand with Kate Ryan's name on it?
Once again, Kate Ryan is tossed into a convoluted mess as she tries to figure out just what happened in Malinmore.
