Dark Before Dawn

Five-year-old Johnnie Richards has been so severely traumatized by the war that has raged since he was born that Sheila Calverts journeys south to return the young evacuee to his mother. Searching the airfields for his mother, Sheila is shocked by the hostility she finds until USAAF Lt. Todd Albany helps her reunite the boy with his mother. Though neither Sheilas nor Johnnies troubles are over, Todd remains a constant help to them until one day he and his plane are announced missing . . .
