According to the sheriff, Chance Drake is the best deputy he has hired. Chance is brave, kind, helpful, churchgoing, handsome, trustworthy, and a fast gun. Chance is respected and expected to do well and eventually become sheriff.

Chance is what the town would call the perfect resident and can take control of anything. It’s true except for his love life.

Each time Chance thinks he may have found a lady to court, chaos ensues, and Chance is ready to give up. He’s confused as to why other men find wives and he can’t.

The sheriff suggests a mail-order bride and gives him a copy of the Matrimonial Times.

A thousand miles away, Annaliese Braun is sad, lonely, and confused about why men find her unappealing. Could it be her love of horses and the way she dresses in pants instead of fancy dresses? A friend suggests a mail-order husband and Annaliese thinks it’s her only chance.

Can two people who were unable to find love, connect with each other and find it together?

This is a sweet romance.
