But when my boyfriend of seven years breaks up with me instead of proposing like I assumed, I know the truth—there’s no such thing as love.
The closest I’m ever going to get to it is scraping the bottom of an ice cream carton after I’ve eaten all of it.

Which explains why when a handsome, lonely troll stumbles across me, hair unbrushed in dirty clothing, he thinks I’m his mate.
