DCI Bruce Thorn finds solace only in the quiet tension of a drawn bowstring.
Since his twin sister fell into a mysterious coma, archery has been his anchor, his escape from the chaos of the world. By day, he resumes his duties in Glasgow’s Major Crimes Division. But by night, he retreats to his private range, losing himself in the meditative rhythm of arrow after arrow.
Then, a call comes. A body has turned up outside the city limits, murdered with unsettling precision using a longbow. It's not the first. The killer leaves no prints, no trace only expertly placed shafts and a growing trail of corpses.
When Bruce asks why he was chosen to lead this rural investigation, Superintendent Oz gives him a chilling answer:
‘Because the killer shoots like you.’
Now, Bruce must guide a team through terrain he knows all too well. Every crime scene feels like a mirror. Every arrow could be one of his own. As the body count rises, Bruce begins to question whether he’s chasing a killer, or being drawn into a twisted game meant just for him.
Can he unravel the truth before the next shot is fired? Or will his past, and his most personal pain, become the archer’s final target?
