Isla was being more than a little bothered by the unwelcome attentions of a too persistent suitor, and it struck her as a good idea to get away from him for a time. She had always been extremely fond of her young Uncle Vernon, so what better than to invite herself to stay with him for the time being? Well, it seemed a good idea at first, but then Isla didn't know that Uncle Vernon had recently been married, although he situation was not as awkward as it might have been owing to the presence of Vernon's brother in law, Doran Black. Doran, however, was soon to present Isla with more emotional problems than she had run away from. There was no denying her attraction to him. There was no denying, either, the powerful presence of the glamorous Mai Olsen, Doran's old and dear friend, who was obviously not going to remain just a friend for very much longer. What was Isla to do now?
