I've been secretly writing a romance novel about the head surgeon I work for.
And he just found it…
I even named the main character after him.
No one was ever supposed to read it, so I kept it on me everywhere I went.
Yesterday, it slipped out of my bag, and I tore apart every room in the building, but couldn't find it anywhere.
Later that day, I walked into the break room and found the head surgeon reading my novel.
He looked up slowly, and set it on the table between us, his eyes locking on mine,
"You've spent a lot of time writing about my hands, Nurse Gunnington."
