(A book in the Mountain Men - Echoes Of Thunder series)
A novel by

Brennan has finally accomplished all he and his mother planned for him to do, but when he returns home, his mother dies only a few months later. Now, to honor her memory, he must finish what they had planned for the healing springs on their mountain.

Rachel found a job in a small town, free from her aunt and her mill boss. She soon learns the man she''s drawn to isn’t a newcomer; he recently opened a mountain clinic. His excellent care and the healing waters help her recover. To pay for her treatment, she works around his home, doing his laundry and cooking meals, as well as helping him organize the patients.
Rachel gradually starts to fall in love with the compassionate Dr. Brennan Ferguson.

Trouble begins after Brennan hears a message from the pastor and decides Rachel should be his wife. He likes her and believes declaring his intentions will win her affection. However, his proclamation sounds more like an order, which does not appeal to Rachel. Because of her lack of education, Rachel feels inferior and does not want to be treated like a subordinate, even though she likes him a lot.

Will they be able to reach a compromise and fulfill their parents' dreams? Will they find a life together where their own desires are fulfilled? Or will Brennan's inability to communicate with the woman he loves pull them apart?
