Fiona Shakleton has stared down gods, survived corruption that should have killed her, and somehow kept the Backside of Forty coven—herself, Violet, and Aislinn—intact through enough supernatural catastrophe to fill a very depressing scrapbook. She's battered, she's mouthy, and she is absolutely done with things that go wrong in the middle of the night.

Something has changed in all three of them since Scotland. Violet's fire has learned to slip backward in time. Aislinn's connection to the earth has deepened into something ancient and overwhelming that does not care what she is ready to receive.
They haven't had time to figure out what they've become. A divine fragment loose in Cottlehill is about to make that everyone's problem.
The threat is a scrap of dead-god power that should have dissolved into the ley lines and didn't. But the real dangers are human.
