Marty commits to help KIng Pedro and Princess Maria retake the throne of Portugal from the usurper Miguel and sends the Shadows in country. Undercover sculduggery and rebellion abound. James, in the meantime is tasked with taking a steam powered squadron to the west coast of Africa to suppress the slave trade. This brand new way of propelling a ship proves advantageous against the agile slavers. Then Prime Minister Peel and the Foreign Secretary send Marty to Turkey to create a new Intelligence Service Station. Why Marty? Because only he is ruthless enough to do what is needed on his own initiative. Restoration is full of action, deceit, skullduggery and mischief.
