Many thousands of years ago, the Lord created everything. He created his angels and the universe. He created thousands of galaxies of stars and planets. He had filled thousands of planets with many different types of intelligent species. He positioned them far enough away from each other that none could meet and pollute another of his creationsHe gave us a wonderful gift, the gift of freedom of will. While some chose to do good, and some drifted to the darkness of evil. He hoped we’d learn from our mistakes and would return to the light of doing good. The first time the Lord learned that his creation, humans, were doing more evil than good, he was highly disappointed in us. He decided to use the weather to flood the planet. But first, he wanted to save the innocents, he ordered Noah to build an ark to save every animal and some ‘good’ men and women who practiced goodness and honored the Lord. From these small numbers, he would repopulate Earth. Many years later, he heard the prayers from the very few righteous in the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He saw the darkness and evil in the very hearts he’d created. He sent two angels to tell Lot and his family to leave the city. They told Lot not to turn around to look back. Lot’s wife was very curious; she paused and turned to look at how the Lord was destroying the cities. For not listening to the Lord’s warning, she was turned into a pillar of salt. The Lord thought his creations, us, had learned our lesson. We have very short memories, so no, we did not learn our lesson. The Lord was upset, but he remembered his promise to Noah not to flood the planet again. He’s already used fire to destroy the twin cities of evil; this time, he decided to use one of the billions of rogue planets that flew through space. He touched a gas-giant, many times the size of Earth. A planet he sent to our solar system’s star/The gas-giant was composed of Helium and Hydrogen. These were the same elements every star he’d created used to generate fusion that yielded light and heat. He knew the Sun would suck in the rogue planet, and when it did, most of his creations were going to die.Why did it take so long for the Lord to take any action was because time operates differently in heaven than we understand it. What were thousands of years for us on Earth was much different for the Lord. He knew the Sun would reach out and pull the rogue into it’s bosom and he could sit back and watch as our solar system was destroyed.
