A novel by

It has been ten years since any human being left Earth. The space program has been abandoned, the launch pads left to rust, as the world struggles to recover from the dreadful years of the Crisis, fighting no longer for the hopes and dreams of the future, but simply to preserve the present, as best they can. On a lonely island in the Arctic, however, a group of renegade engineers and scientists work on Project Translight, a covert, unauthorized space program that might yet take humanity back to the stars, to fulfil the dream of decades past.

Only one man can stop the mission or save it; ex-Astronaut Sam Conway, who dreamed all his life of venturing into space before his hopes were dashed by the cancellation of the space program, now dispatched to investigate rumors of strange work being conducted on an abandoned Coast Guard listening post by a powerful Senator with her eye on the White House, willing to do anything necessary to reach her goal, no matter the cost…
