Peddlers, Notions, and Unsavory Potions
(2027)(The second book in the Chronicles of Bramblevale: Office of Unlawful Magic series)
A novel by Shari L Tapscott
Peddlers, Notions, and Unsavory Potions is the second book in Bramblevale: Office of Unlawful Magic. Set in a welcoming, picturesque village, this cozy series will delight romantasy lovers looking for a high-humor, low-action fantasy story that feels like an indulgent book version of a whipped-cream-laden ‘hug in a mug.’
Summer has dawned in Bramblevale like a gentle sunrise, but while others are enjoying sunny afternoons, Lady Juniper Woodfield is on the hunt. Her prey? Master Corrigan Norwalden, a man who is both the royal court sorcerer and her boss at the Office of Unlawful Magic.
She’s determined to rise to his challenge and claim his heart and hand before her uncle can marry her off to another man, but pesky work tasks keep getting in the way of romance.
Not only does Corrigan insist Juniper must hire and train her replacement, but a peddler with a dark agenda is wreaking havoc on the king’s city of Serendale.
To complicate things, the tercentenary celebration commemorating peace between Sonora and its neighboring kingdom of Galford is right around the corner, giving Corrigan and Juniper only a few short weeks to track down the culprit.
Unfortunately, the pair quickly discovers they’re not dealing with a common hedge witch—and the woman's goal isn’t simple chaos.
If Corrigan and Juniper can solve a series of challenges specifically created to thwart the sorcerer, they just might have a chance of neutralizing the situation before it can escalate into a full-blown royal debacle…
But only if Juniper can convince Corrigan to leave his wretched cat at home.
Bramblevale: Office of Unlawful Magic is a connected, cozy romantasy series featuring a lovable cast of characters. The books in this series feature warm, closed-door romance. (Passionate kisses and some innuendo, but no spicy scenes.)
Genre: Paranormal Romance
