The Forgotten Village
(2027)(The third book in the French Mystery series)
A novel by Christophe Villain
A priest takes his own life, a kayaker overestimates his abilities and a country squire dies due to carelessness.
Three deaths within a single year in a sparsely populated area in the South of France catch the attention of Capitaine Armand de Varenne. At first glance, they appear unrelated, but he uncovers inconsistencies that make him suspicious. The clues point to the charismatic leader of a Christian sect living by its own laws in a remote village.
In their third case, Armand de Varenne and Margaux David find themselves investigating within the Gorges du Tarn – a place Margaux had hoped never to see again.
