On the surface, Statler Bothswait and his crew are a bunch of ex-Army Corp of Engineer geeks who currently ply their trade on the civilian landscape. But underneath it all…? Well, they have one General Dark to thank for what they are really accomplishing. Their newest venture? Erecting a building while taking down an arrogant factory owner turned traitor in the fine town of Liminal. What Statler hasn’t figured on, however, is having to interface with the man’s daughter. How much does she know? How deeply is she involved? And can he separate his confounding feelings for her, from the operation he has to complete?
Eliza Belle needs to get out of town. She’s known things at the factory have been sketchy for a while, but uncovering more and more of what’s been going on, has her understanding that her life might be in danger. Enter, Statler Bothswait and his crew, and disappearing is suddenly off the table. She can’t leave the man and his crew vulnerable to William Flazer’s nefarious whims. Add to that, Eliza’s immediate attraction to Statler, and her plans to run come to a screeching halt. If she can just play it cool until the build is complete, they all might just make it out of Liminal alive. But the odds certainly aren’t good.
