Yesterday, my life was boring. Crummy job, skyrocketing bills, and my only romance in years with a "boyfriend" I plugged into the wall at night.
Today, I crash-landed on an unknown planet. And now I've been captured—err, "rescued"—by a seven-foot-tall barbarian who promises to keep me safe, but looks at me with burning hunger in his eyes.
Keep me safe. Or maybe just keep me for himself. We've been, uh, sharing a tent, shall we say. And if it earns me his protection on a planet that seems designed to kill me, I’ll do what it takes to stay alive.
But as it turns out, "doing what it takes" with Karvok is the most shattering, toe-curling experience I’ve ever had. And pretty soon, I realize something else:
This alien war chief doesn't just want me to warm his tent.
