Six hours. That’s the period of time I can’t remember. It’s not that long in the scheme of things, and in other circumstances I wouldn’t have worried about it. The trouble is, during those missing six hours, a young woman was murdered, and there’s evidence to suggest that I was involved.

Jack Trimble is a failing author married to high-flying politician Sandra. During a night out, he has a blackout and wakes up in hospital with severe concussion. Witnesses place him at the scene of the murder of a young woman called Laurie Jones.

Sandra and her brother Frank, a ruthless political fixer, are determined at all costs to avoid a scandal, but Jack is equally intent on finding out the truth of what happened that night, whatever the cost to himself and his wife’s career. But when Jack embarks on his quest, he has no idea of the dangers he is about to unleash.

Sometimes the past is best left forgotten.
